About the Artist

Hey! I’m Kate, the artist behind Absolutely Sketchy. I’m a self-taught, lifelong creative with a deep love for hand-created art and pursuing getting better at it every day.  I’ve spent the last 22 years working in graphic design and branding, but painting and sketching is where my heart really lives.

I moved to Seattle in 2020 and instantly fell in love with the sports culture here, so now a lot of my work lives at the intersection of art, energy, and iconic moments. You'll notice some photos of my husband, Rodney, and I at some games. If i'm not there, i'm on my couch watching them while creating my next piece!

I love dogs and openly prefer them to most humans.
I’m suspiciously good at Call of Duty for a woman in her 40s.
I deeply appreciate quick wit, playful banter, and not taking myself too seriously.
I can solve about 15 different styles of Rubik’s cubes and learned to do this about a year ago because I can, so I should!

At the end of the day, I believe great art should feel personal, alive, and a little playful, because creativity is better when it’s fun.
